Lubany, born in Nazareth, Israel, was a senior at Harduf Waldorf School when she made her professional film debut in Omar.
Lubany made her debut in Omar, despite having no acting training. The film made the 86th Academy Awards's shortlist for Best Foreign Language Film.
In 2014, Leem Lubany appeared in A to B, a film by Ali Mustafa and played the role of Salima in Bill Murray’s comedy Rock the Kasbah.
