Le Châtelard is a municipality in the district of Glâne in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland.
Le Châtelard has an area, as of 2009[update], of 7.5 square kilometers (2.9 sq mi). Of this area, 5.24 km2 (2.02 sq mi) or 69.8% is used for agricultural purposes, while 2 km2 (0.77 sq mi) or 26.6% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.24 km2 (0.093 sq mi) or 3.2% is settled (buildings or roads).
Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 1.3% and transportation infrastructure made up 1.5%. Out of the forested land, 25.4% of the total land area is heavily forested and 1.2% is covered with orchards or small clusters of trees. Of the agricultural land, 14.4% is used for growing crops and 55.0% is pastures.
The municipality is located on the south-west flank of the Gibloux. It consists of the village of Le Châtelard and the hamlets of Le Planet and Planafaye.

Le Châtelard has a population (as of December 2015[update]) of 377. As of 2008[update], 0.9% of the population are resident foreign nationals. Over the last 10 years (2000–2010) the population has changed at a rate of 1.4%. Migration accounted for 0.9%, while births and deaths accounted for 1.2%.
Most of the population (as of 2000[update]) speaks French (325 or 97.9%) as their first language, Portuguese is the second most common (4 or 1.2%) and German is the third (2 or 0.6%).
