Le Châtelard is a municipality in the district of Glâne in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland.

Le Châtelard has an area, as of 2009, of 7.5 square kilometers (2.9 sq mi). Of this area, 5.24 km2 (2.02 sq mi) or 69.8% is used for agricultural purposes, while 2 km2 (0.77 sq mi) or 26.6% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.24 km2 (0.093 sq mi) or 3.2% is settled (buildings or roads).

Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 1.3% and transportation infrastructure made up 1.5%. Out of the forested land, 25.4% of the total land area is heavily forested and 1.2% is covered with orchards or small clusters of trees. Of the agricultural land, 14.4% is used for growing crops and 55.0% is pastures.

The municipality is located on the south-west flank of the Gibloux. It consists of the village of Le Châtelard and the hamlets of Le Planet and Planafaye.

The blazon of the municipal coat of arms is Chequy of Nine Or and Azure.

Le Châtelard has a population (as of December 2015) of 377. As of 2008, 0.9% of the population are resident foreign nationals. Over the last 10 years (2000–2010) the population has changed at a rate of 1.4%. Migration accounted for 0.9%, while births and deaths accounted for 1.2%.

Most of the population (as of 2000) speaks French (325 or 97.9%) as their first language, Portuguese is the second most common (4 or 1.2%) and German is the third (2 or 0.6%).
