Lakshmipuram (L.Pudhupatti) (Tamil: லட்சுமிபுரம்) is a village in south Tamil Nadu, India. It is situated at the foothills of the Western Ghats, 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) from the city of Theni. It is 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) from Periyakulam on NH 47. The population of this village is over 10,000+.It is located on Latitude - 10° 4'38.55"N, Longitude - 77°31'11.41"E.
The village is accessible by bus, while the nearest railway stations are in Theni, Dindukkal and Madurai. The people here are agrarian based. The main crops cultivated are Sugarcane and Maize.
'Kaliamman kovil Pongal' is a one week festival celebrated in this village. One of the festival activities is Sirappu, an occasion during which people of the village gather near the foothills of the mountain to pray the savior god Karuppasamy and have a samapanthi(where people irrespective of caste and color are served with food). The menu includes lamb, chicken, egg and rice. Though the fun part is to have a get together with the entire village.
