Kunovice (Czech pronunciation: [ˈkunovɪtsɛ]) is a town in the Uherské Hradiště District, Zlín Region, Czech Republic.
The first written records of Kunovice date back to 1196.
Until 1918, KUNOWITZ - KUNOVICE was part of the Austrian monarchy (Austria side after the compromise of 1867), in the UNGARISCH HRADISCH - Uherské Hradiště district, one of the 34 Bezirkshauptmannschaften in Moravia.
A post-office was opened in 1869.
Kunovice gained the official status of a town in 1997 .
