Kristianstad Airport (IATA: KID, ICAO: ESMK) is situated outside Kristianstad in Scania, Sweden.
The airport was built during the 1940s for military usage. In 1961 it started to be used for civilian aviation. Stockholm has always been the largest destination by number of passengers. Also some international destinations have been flown, like Copenhagen (before the Öresund Bridge), London, Ljubljana, Kaunas and Palanga. The airport was state owned until 2004, but is now owned by the city and county.
