Kolah Ghermezi (in Persian: کُلاهقرمزی – meaning "The One With The Red Hat") is an Iranian fictional puppet character in different TV series and movies. Iraj Tahmasb and Hamid Jebelli created the character. The original TV series was a puppet show named Post Box (صندوق پست) for kids broadcast in early 1990s in Iran.
Kolah Ghermezi was supposed to be a guest puppet in a kid show, Post Box, in the early 90's in Iran. He was designed as a shoe-maker's aide. He spoke so fast and indistinguishably. Iraj Tahmasb (one of the creators of the show) who played the host of the show, Mr. Presenter (آقای مجری) tries to correct his mistakes both verbally and his behavior.
Kolah Ghermezi is supposed to be 8-year-old boy who goes to school in Iran Kolah Ghermezi lives in a floating timeline, which means he doesn't age. He talks so fast in the original version, but gradually by Mr. Presenter's corrections he learns to talk correctly. Kolah Ghermezi wears a red hat (in which his name comes from) and a blue shirt and green pants. He has different eye colors, one blue and the other one is green.
He has two relatives in the shows and films. The first one is Pesar Khaleh, literally The Cousin (his mother's sister's son) and Pesar Ammeh Za, meaning his cousin—but more specifically his father's sister's son (the titles for cousins differentiates based on which side of the family it is from -mom's side or dad's side-).
Three separate films were produced based on Kolah Ghermezi and his stories.
