Kleindietwil is a former municipality in the Oberaargau administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. On 1 January 2011 Kleindietwil and Leimiswil were merged with the municipality of Madiswil.

Kleindietwil has an area, as of 2009^[update], of 2.68 km² (1.03 sq mi). Of this area, 1.59 km² (0.61 sq mi) or 59.3% is used for agricultural purposes, while 0.79 km² (0.31 sq mi) or 29.5% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.28 km² (0.11 sq mi) or 10.4% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.02 km² (4.9 acres) or 0.7% is either rivers or lakes and 0.02 km² (4.9 acres) or 0.7% is unproductive land.

Of the built up area, industrial buildings made up 1.1% of the total area while housing and buildings made up 5.2% and transportation infrastructure made up 3.4%. 28.4% of the total land area is heavily forested and 1.1% is covered with orchards or small clusters of trees. Of the agricultural land, 26.1% is used for growing crops and 30.2% is pastures, while 3.0% is used for orchards or vine crops. All the water in the municipality is in rivers and streams.

Kleindietwil has a population (as of 31 December 2010) of 495. As of 2007^[update], 0.8% of the population was made up of foreign nationals. Over the last 10 years the population has decreased at a rate of -10.3%. Most of the population (as of 2000^[update]) speaks German (95.3%), with Albanian being second most common ( 2.4%) and French being third ( 0.6%).

In the 2007 election the most popular party was the SVP which received 39.2% of the vote. The next three most popular parties were the SPS (18.1%), the Green Party (12.5%) and the FDP (10.5%).
