Alice Janette Hergett, best known by her stage name Kitty Foxx (February 26, 1942 – September 21, 2006) was an American pornographic film actress and magazine publisher.
Foxx was born Alice Janette Seals and raised in Mount Carmel, Illinois, where she graduated from Mount Carmel High School in 1960. She had 3 older sisters (Brenda, Charlotte and Linda) and a younger brother (Thomas).
Foxx studied Cosmetology to become a beautician, before marrying Arthur Alan Hergett (who went by his middle name Alan) on December 30, 1964. They met at a bar and married 18 days later. Hergett had worked as a sub-contractor for NASA. The couple had one daughter, Michelle and later became grandparents to her two daughters. Foxx was also step mother to her husband's son, Mark from a previous marriage. In 1978, the family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. She would go on to work as a beautician at the Las Vegas Hilton for five years.
In 1983, Foxx shifted career paths to become a topless showgirl on the Las Vegas Strip. Having previously filled in for a friend who was going on vacation, the couple bought The Look Inn, a topless bar and she began appearing there. The plywood sign for the bar sported O’s that looked like eyeballs, and was later renamed to the Centerfold as it "didn't have a great reputation". The couple had been swingers since 1967, and her husband supported and encouraged her change of career.
In 1989, Foxx was noticed by an adult industry talent scout who convinced her to appear in a nude photo layout for a men's magazine. Afterwards she was asked if she would be interested in being in an adult film and in 1990 made her debut in Nympho Heaven. Foxx would later say that she loved having sex in front of a camera so much that she quickly decided to be an adult film actress for as long as men would desire to have her. She made about 20 movies a year throughout the 1990s and starred in more than 400 adult films during her career. Her films frequently featured gang bangs and creampies. She was also well known for appearing in lesbian scenes.
