On 18 January 2015, It was announced that Kingsway would be getting a Chinese restaurant and three new takeaways as part of a big investment into facilities in the growing estate which opened in March 2015.

It has a very active Residents Association, started by Barry Kirby and Clive Barton in June 2008, that holds public meetings, community fun days and other local events, and lobbies local agencies and organisations involved in the development, on behalf of residents.
