Kimberley Chambers, from New Zealand, is an marathon open water swimmer. She is one of only a few people to complete the Ocean's seven swimming challenge. In August 2015, she became the first woman to swim from the Farallon Islands to the Golden Gate Bridge – a distance of about 30 miles. In September 2016, an attempt at a record breaking 93 mile swim form Sacramento to Tiburon, California, was aborted 54 miles in, due to poor weather conditions.

Given her passion for open water swimming and the San Francisco Bay, she has long supported the efforts of the local pollution watchdog San Francisco Baykeeper, and serves on the organization's Leadership Circle in order to raise awareness about their mission for Bay protection.
