Kilbuck Township, Pennsylvania


Kilbuck Township is a township in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 697 at the 2010 census.

Kilbuck Township was named after Gelelemend, also known as Killbuck.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 2.6 square miles (6.7 km2), of which 2.5 square miles (6.5 km2) is land and 0.04 square miles (0.10 km2), or 1.55%, is water.

Kilbuck Township is bordered by the borough of Glenfield and Aleppo Township to the west, Ohio Township to the north, Ross Township to the east, and Avalon, Ben Avon, Ben Avon Heights, and Emsworth to the south. Neville Township on Neville Island is also to the south, across a channel of the Ohio River via the I-79 Bridge.

As of the census of 2000, there were 723 people, 310 households, and 217 families residing in the township. The population density was 284.2 people per square mile (109.9/km²). There were 318 housing units at an average density of 125.0/sq mi (48.3/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 98.89% White, 0.55% African American, 0.14% Asian, and 0.41% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.14% of the population.
