Kennedy Township is a township in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. Conveniently located 10 miles west of Downtown Pittsburgh and 12 miles east of Pittsburgh International Airport. The population was 7,672 at the 2010 census.
Kennedy Township is situated in the award winning Montour School District. David E. Williams Middle School is located within the township. Elementary students attend either J.W. Burkett Elementary or Forest Grove Elementary School.
St. Malachy Catholic School is also located in Kennedy Township.
Kennedy is home to several churches: St. Malachy Catholic Church, Kenmawr United Presbyterian, and Kennedy First Alliance.
The first restaurant located in Kennedy Township was the Stroll Inn, which is still in operation.
The Kenmawr Conservation Area is a 60 acre wooded nature park owned and maintained by the Hollow Oak Land Trust. The perennial stream that runs the length of the park is an unnamed tributary of Moon Run. Informal trails meander through the scenic valley.
