Kappil is a tourist place in Thiruvananthapuram district , Kerala state, India. It is located in Edava Panchayat at the cost of Arabian Sea, near Varkala. Currently kappil is under Attingal Constituency.
Scenic backwaters, beach and facilities for watersport are available. Nellatil, Edava, Paravur, Nadayara, Varkala etc. are locations in the vicinity which are worth visiting.
Kappil is also famous for Kappil Bhagavathy Temple and a tourist spot during the festival season.
Though connected by rail, only shuttle trains stop at Kappil. It lies on the Kollam-Thiruvananthapuram railway route. Nearest main Railway Station is Paravur at 4.5 km (2.8 mi) away. Another major Railway station is Varkala at 7.5 km (4.7 mi) away. Almost all trains have stoppage here.
