Kaali is a 1980 Tamil–Telugu bilingual-film directed by I. V. Sasi, and produced by Hem-Nag. It stars Rajinikanth, Seema, Phataphat Jayalakshmi, and Vijayakumar in prominent roles.Chiranjeevi reprises Vijayakumar's role in the Telugu version. This was the first film that had Rajinikanth and Chiranjeevi together. Seema enacted dual roles in this film.Kaikala Satyanarayana plays the main villain in both the versions. The cinematography was handled by Ashok Kumar.
The music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja. The film had Vairamuthu's first written song.
