KVUU (99.9 FM) is a Hot AC radio station in the Colorado Springs, Colorado area that is known by its moniker My 99.9. It was known for many years by its previous moniker, "K-View 99.9".
The 99.9 FM frequency was originally occupied by KPUB-FM, later KYNR, an easy listening/beautiful music station out of Pueblo, Colorado. In 1983, it moved studios to Colorado Springs, adopted the KVUU call letters, K-View moniker and flipped to an adult contemporary format. The station was owned by KVUU/KSSS, Inc. until it was acquired by Triathlon Broadcasting Of Colorado Springs in 1996.
In 1999, Triathlon was acquired by AM/FM, Inc. (later absorbed into Clear Channel Communications) and evolved into a Hot AC format. In Summer of 2005, it rebranded itself as "My99.9" playing hits from the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. In 2007, it evolved towards a CHR format to compete with mainstream CHR KKMG "98.9 Magic FM".
KVUU played a large amount of 1980s, 1990s and current music heard on Hot AC and tracks on Top 40 not heard on Hot AC stations including rap and R&B music. On March 7, 2008, Radio & Records moved KVUU from the Hot AC panel to the Top 40/CHR panel, in part due to its conversion to a CHR direction. In addition, Mediabase has also started listing KVUU as a Top 40/CHR reporter as well.
By January 2010, KVUU reverted to a Hot AC format.
