Pirate Cat Radio founder Daniel "Monkey Man" Roberts brought KPDO back on air on May 8, 2010. He left without notice in November 2010. KPDO founder and board president Maggie Celeste Worden took over for Roberts and has indicated she would lead the station in a new direction, forming a community advisory board featuring representation from local schools, businesses, and elected officials.
As of October 2011[update], the FCC had granted special temporary authority to remain silent until June 2012. KPDO resumed operating on June 14, 2012.
