Dr. Julie Sullivan is the fifteenth president of the University of St. Thomas, a private Roman Catholic institution in St. Paul, Minnesota. As the successor of Fr. Dennis Dease, Sullivan is the first layperson and woman to hold that title in St. Thomas' 128-year history.
Before becoming the president in July 2013, she served as the executive vice president and provost at the University of San Diego since 2005. From 2003 to 2005, Sullivan held a professorship in the Rady School of Management at the University of California, San Diego. Before then, she taught for seventeen years at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
