John Wood Lewis, Sr. (February 1, 1801 – July 11, 1865) was an American physician who represented Georgia in the Confederate States Senate from 1862 to 1863.
Lewis was born on February 1, 1801, in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. Lewis was a member of the South Carolina state legislature, 1830-31; member of Georgia Senate, 1845; Senator from Georgia in the First Confederate States Congress, 1862-63. He was elected on April 7, 1862, after Robert Toombs, former Confederate States Secretary of State, declined his election at the Congress's opening session on February 18. He died on July 11, 1865, in Canton, Georgia.
