Jennifer Rice is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia in the 2013 provincial election. She represents the electoral district of North Coast as a member of the British Columbia New Democratic Party. She was a municipal councillor in the city of Prince Rupert, British Columbia, elected in November 2011 before resigning in June 2013. She attracted considerable controversy during the provincial campaign by refusing to step down from council until nearly a month after the provincial election concluded in May 2013.

Ms. Rice is currently the opposition critic for northern and rural economic development.

Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Jennifer Rice's early career consisted of working with seniors in long-term care facilities, and instructed open water SCUBA and kayaking.

After moving to B.C. in 2003, Ms. Rice took on the role of energy campaigner for the T. Buck Suzuki Foundation, World Wildlife Federation, and Friends of Wild Salmon. After arriving in Prince Rupert, Ms. Rice began studying the eel grass in the waters of Prince Rupert to develop base data before the opening of Fairview Container Terminal in 2007, saying "with the lumber mill here closed, people are looking for jobs, so the superport is something that we'll just have to accept." However, Ms. Rice first became known to the public for her staunch opposition to the Enbridge Northern Gateway pipeline.

Rice introduced one bill during the 40th Parliament of British Columbia, the private member bill Drinking Water Protection (Safe Water for Schools) Amendment Act (Bill M-215) in April 2016. The bill, which did not advance beyond 1st reading, proposed to require regularized testing of drinking water in schools.

In July 2015, Ms. Rice was noticeably absent for a vote in Legislature on the Pacific Northwest LNG Project, drawing questions to her whereabouts and the timing of travel plans. When questioned, Ms. Rice responded that the "[B.C. Liberals] have won every single vote in the legislature in the last ten years." This prompted a stinging rebuke by the editors of the Northern View, saying "using that logic, there is no reason for MLA Rice to vote on anything in the Legislature ever again."
