James Morrissey is a public relations agent and long-term paid spokesperson for the billionaire Denis O'Brien.
He co-founded The Sunday Business Post and is a director of Newstalk and FleishmanHillard.
His book Inishbofin and Inishark Connemara, featuring the collected photos and reports of other people, was launched at The Bailey in Duke Street, Dublin by close friend Taoiseach Enda Kenny. Also present on the night was P. J. Mara.
Morrissey received criticism from prominent politicians for statements made regarding Dáil Éireann and Catherine Murphy TD stating "The Dáil is a bit of a talking club, they want their own rules for themselves" and of Murphy that she was “dishonest in her conduct” and “peddling . . . illegally procured information which contains falsehood”
From County Mayo, he tends to holiday in Connemara, owning a house in Cleggan.
