James is the upcoming second extended play by American singer-songwriter Phoebe Ryan, slated to be released on October 27, 2017 by Columbia Records. It serves as the follow-up to her 2015 extended play, Mine (2015). The EP has been promoted by the release of three singles, as well as a tour that spans from late-October to mid-November.
The album lyrically chronicles a relationship from beginning to end.
Ryan spoke about the EP, saying:
“The 'James' EP is a collection of songs that I put together to tell the story of a relationship from beginning to end. It’s only half based in reality, but at the same time, it’s all completely true. These are not love songs, but they are about love. 'James' is driven by uncertainty, lust, vulnerability, destructive behavior, and disappointment… but most of all, passion. Having so much passion that you don’t even know what to do with it."
In addition to the three singles being promoted, Ryan is also slated to embark on a tour in support of the extended play. The tour is set to begin on October 31, 2017 and conclude on November 14, 2017.
