Jakes Bejoy is an Indian music composer and singer best known for his compositions in Tamil and Malayalam cinema with films such as Angels (2014), Thakka Thakka (2015), Monsoon Mangoes (2016),Kavi Uddheshichathu (2016), Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru (2016).
Jakes Bejoy made his debut as a music director in Angels, a Malayalam movie which was directed by Jean Markose and released in 2014. He got the chance to work in this film, after the wide acceptance of his music album named Malayalee.
Hails from the farming town of Erattupetta situated in Kottayam district of Kerala. He is the eldest of two sons of Bejoy, a planter and Shammy. He is married to Anna and has a daughter, Norah Ann. Bejoy completed his basic schooling from Montfort School, Yercaud and MA in Music from Stanford University.
He is trained in Carnatic music from a young age and later introduced to gospel and western music during his time at Montfort. After his graduation, he worked in the music department for some of the leading game companies such as Activision Blizzard, Namco Bandai and Disney Interactive as an audio programmer on some of the best-selling titles like Cars2, Guitar Hero to name a few.
In 2014, He did background score for malayalam film Angels which was a Malayalam social thriller. After doing Thakka Thakka in Tamil in 2015, He was roped in as music director for Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru
Currently he is doing the background score for Ssarathkumar's Chennaiyil Oru Naal 2 which is produced by Kalpataru Pcitures. He is also doing Detroit Crossing which is a Malayalam movie.
