Jablonec nad Jizerou (German: Jablonetz) is a town in the Czech Republic in the Semily district of the Liberec region.
In the first historical mention of the village of Jablonec, chronicles from the year 1492 mention a wooden parish church, one of the first in the area.
In 1916 on the request of the city council, the township name was extended from Jablonec to Jablonec nad Jizerou.
In 1971 Jablonec nad Jizerou was awarded the status of town.
In Jablonec nad Jizerou there is also a ski resort, with 3.3 kilometers of downhill slopes and two ski lifts. The top of the hill is 688 meters above sea level.
