The JD Institute of Fashion Technology is the educational division of JD Educational Trust, with learning centers spread across India. The institute was founded on 12 October 1988 in Mumbai, India. It provides multi-disciplinary education in the field of Fashion and Interior design studies. The institute was ranked 10th in the field of Fashion Technology Education in India by India Today and Nielsen.
The institute has cooperated with members of the industry like Fashion Design Council of India and is a regular contributor to the development of the Indian Fashion Industry, participating in exhibitions, fashion weeks and other social and charity events. Additionally, JD Educational Trust is a member of various bodies such as Indo Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Indo French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Turkish Chamber of Commerce.

For admission in advanced diploma programs a candidate must have successfully completed 10+2 examination from a board of education recognized in India. For the post graduate diploma in fashion communication, the students must have completed three years graduation in any stream. For the diploma programs the admission is subject to the availability of seats.
JD Institute of Fashion Technology has a series of ca. 20 learning centres located in major cities throughout India. These learning centres offer access to an E-Library with books, magazines, journals and other fashion literature, as well as laboratories and classrooms.
Every year the institute organises an annual fashion show called "JD Annual Design Awards". The annual event is aimed at showcasing the creations designed by the final year student of the institute. In 2016, the show focussed on artisans and craftsmen in India’a textile and clothing history.
