Jósvafő is a village in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, Hungary.

Near to the village is a manmade lake, which has emerald colour as a result of the fount which foster/feed it. First it was made for an artificial goal to generate electricity in 1942. (They bloated the fount.)

When people threw up the Tarn they routed a turbine to the bloated water at the same. In 1937 they reached the water-privilege license. With the energy they could light up the caves and later the "Tengerszem" hostel was built.

The Klein Family were set up the "Upper-Mill" and the lade with the power station in 1840. From 1917 it has been tended the population of the village. The lake came into existence in 1930. We can also find a mill near the lake, and a quietly plashing waterfall. People exploit it to produce lights for the caves.
