The Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (IPBC; Hebrew: תאגיד השידור הישראלי, translit. Ta'agid HaShidur HaIsraeli), branded as KAN (Hebrew: כאן, lit. Here), is an Israeli governmental body founded in 2015. It was founded with the intent to replace the Israel Broadcasting Authority (IBA) after the Israeli Public Broadcasting law ordered its closure. Its debut date was postponed several times. The law stipulated that it begin operation on October 1, 2016, but Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, after discussion with Histadrut chairman, Avi Nissenkorn, postponed the date until the beginning of 2018. However, after political pressure, its opening was only delyed six months, opening on May 15, 2017. The IBPC CEO is Eldad Koblenz and its chairman is Gil Omer.
