In the Right Place is the sixth album by New Orleans R&B artist Dr. John. The album was originally released on Atco Records in 1973 and became the biggest selling album of Dr. John's career.
The song "Such a Night" was also performed as part of The Band's The Last Waltz concert, made famous by Martin Scorsese's film. The song also appears in the music video of 3000 Miles to Graceland.
The song "Right Place Wrong Time" was recently featured in an episode of American Horror Story: Coven and also in the movies Dazed and Confused and Sahara, as well as the trailer for the second season of Fargo. A verse lyric from the song ("Just need a little brain salad surgery/got to cure my insecurity") was the inspiration for the title of the album Brain Salad Surgery by the English progressive rock band Emerson, Lake, and Palmer, replacing the working title of Whip Some Skull on Yer. Both titles are slang expressions for fellatio.
All tracks written by Mac Rebennack; except where indicated.
