"If I Had Your Love" was the Icelandic entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, performed in English by Selma.
The song is an up-tempo dance number, with Selma singing about what she would do "If I had your love". She claims that it would inspire her above all other things. The song was criticised after the Contest for being somewhat musically confusing, as it featured a number of tempo and key changes in unusual places.
The performance featured Selma wearing a red outfit with what were described as knickerbocker trousers. Her backing singers wore the same style of trousers, only coloured gold. They also wore bustier tops.
As Iceland had not finished the 2004 Contest in the top 10, the song was performed in the semi-final. Here, it was performed tenth (following the Netherlands' Glennis Grace with "My Impossible Dream" and preceding Belgium's Nuno Resende with "Le grand soir"). At the close of voting, it had received 52 points, placing 16th in a field of 25 - thus failing to qualify for the final and ensuring that Iceland would need to qualify from the semi-final at their next Contest appearance. The song had been favoured to progress to the final, based on Selma's previous success at the 1999 Contest.
It was succeeded as Icelandic representative at the 2006 Contest by Silvía Night with "Congratulations".
