Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University, Dehradun (IUD) is a Non-Profit University in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. ICFAI University, Dehradun is also a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, London. IUD is a member of The Association of Indian Universities.
The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India ( ICFAI ) was established in 1984, as a not-for-profit educational society in Telangana, India. The institution has been offering education to students across India through its various programs in the field of higher education. The institution was founded by N.J. Yasaswy, Besant C. Raj and Dr. Prasanna Chandra, the Director of Centre for Financial Management. The institute has a national presence with the sponsoring and establishment of eleven universities across India. Ten of these eleven universities have been established in the states of Uttarakhand, Tripura, Jharkhand, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh through acts passed by the legislative assemblies of the respective states. The eleventh university, namely the Icfai Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE), has been declared as a deemed-to-be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. A few more university applications are at an advanced stage of processing by the respective state governments.
The ICFAI Law School was ranked eighth by India Today's "India's Best Colleges 2017: Law".
The IUD campus is situated at Selaqui, in Dehradun. It has 2,565,000 square feet (238,300 m2) of built-up area with academic blocks, workshops, laboratories, faculty rooms, auditorium, seminar halls, computer labs, library and other student facilities. The campus is capable of accommodating up to 3,000 students.
The ICFAI Law School, formerly the Faculty of Law, is a constituent of the University. It offers 5 years LL.B (Hons.), 3 years LL.B (Hons.) and 1 year LL.M.
The ICFAI Tech School (ITS), formerly the Faculty of Science and Technology, is a constituent of the university. It commenced operations in 2004. It offers Ph.D, M.Tech. and B.Tech. programs. Its flagship B.Tech. program is offered in the following disciplines:
It conducts a highly selective Admission Test for IcfaiTech (ATIT), in online and written format, for admissions to its B. Tech. program.The eligibility to enter IcfaiTech Dehradun campus is to have a minimum of 60% in 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as mandatory subjects. It is consistently ranked among top 5 Engineering institutes of India for its Industry Interface by Dataquest and among top private engineering colleges of India by different magazines/ websites.
