House of Refuge (New House of Refuge Hospital) was a institute in St. Louis, Missouri that cared for young boys and girls and gave them a home where there was support, education, and discipline that taught them to take care of themselves. It was thought that this institute was used as the New House of Refuge Hospital during the American Civil War.
