Holgate is a village in Henry County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,109 at the 2010 census.
Holgate was platted in 1873 when the railroad was extended to that point. The village has the name of William Holgate, the original owner of the town site. A post office has been in operation at Holgate since 1874. Holgate was incorporated as a village in 1881.
