Highland is a city in Utah County, Utah, United States. It is approximately 30 miles (48 km) south of Salt Lake City and is part of the ProvoOrem Metropolitan Statistical Area. According to the 2010 census the population was 15,523, a 90.0% increase over the 2000 figure of 8,172.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 8.5 square miles (22.1 km2), all of it land.

Highland was settled by homesteaders in the 1870s. It was named by Scottish Mormon immigrants who felt the area resembled the highlands of Scotland.

As of the 2010 census Highland had a population of 15,523. The median age was 22. The racial makeup of the population was 95.9% white, 0.5% black or African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.7% Asian, 0.7% Pacific Islander, 0.5% from some other race and 1.5% from two or more races. 2.8% of the population was Hispanic or Latino of any race.

As of the census of 2000, there were 8,172 people, 1,804 households, and 1,733 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,174.0 people per square mile (453.3/km²). There were 1,864 housing units at an average density of 267.8 per square mile (103.4/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.49% White, 0.12% African American, 0.13% Native American, 0.31% Asian, 0.10% Pacific Islander, 0.73% from other races, and 1.11% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.17% of the population.
