Table start
Table caption
Only between table start and first table row.
Table row
Can be omitted before the first row and/or after the last row.
Table header cell
Consecutive table header cells may be added on same line separated by double marks (!!
); or start on new lines, each with its own single mark (!
).
Table data cell
Consecutive table data cells may be added on same line separated by double marks (||
) or start on new lines, each with its own single mark (|
). This mark is also used to separate HTML attributes from cell and caption contents.
Table end
Each mark, except table end (|}
), optionally accepts one or more HTML attributes. Attributes must be on the same line as the mark.
Although HTML table syntax also works, special can be used as a shortcut to create a table. The vertical bar or "pipe" symbol ( |
) codes function exactly the same as HTML table markup, so a knowledge of HTML table code helps understand pipe code. The shortcuts are as follows:
