Love Marie Payawal Ongpauco-Escudero (born February 14, 1985; professionally known as Heart Evangelista), is a Filipino actress-TV host, and a former VJ. She embarked on a singing career and has released one solo album too. She is also an accomplished painter and holds her own artshows in galleries. She recently authored her first book, This is Me, Love Marie, that narrates her life lessons and all her beauty secrets.
Love Marie Payawal Ongpauco was first discovered by a commercial agent while at a mall with her sister. She signed up with the Star Magic agency, formerly known as Talent Center, and was part of Star Circle Batch 9. She later changed her name professionally.
She is the daughter of Reynaldo Evangelista Ongpauco, who belongs to a Chinoy clan that owns and manages Barrio Fiesta Group of restaurants, and Maria Cecilia del Gallego Payawal, whose family owns a sugarcane plantation in Camarines Sur and is the granddaughter of a Spanish governor in the Bicol region. Heart is the youngest in her family, with one brother and four sisters. She grew up and studied in the U.S., then her family moved back to the Philippines in her late teen years. She is married to Senator Francis "Chiz" Escudero. On February 15, 2015, the couple wed in a lavish ceremony at the Balesin Island Club in the Philippines.
From 2000 to early 2004, She was paired with John Prats on the show G-mik, Trip, Ang Tanging Ina, My First Romance and Berks. During the success of their loveteam, they won as the (Most Popular Loveteams of RP movies) of 2003, from 33rd Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation. Evangelista also won the Best New Female Personality (Best New Movie Actress and Best New TV Actress) awards from Star Awards for Movies and Star Awards for TV. She also won Texter's and Listener's Choice at the Himig Handog Awards for her single "Love Has Come My Way"... She released the single "Tell Me" in Australia where it peaked at number 18 on the charts.
