Hayfield is a city in Dodge County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,340 at the 2010 census.

The Hayfield branch of the U.S. Post Office has been in operation since 1885. Hayfield was incorporated in 1896.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.27 square miles (3.29 km2), all of it land.

Minnesota State Highways 30 and 56 are the two highways running through the community.

As of the census of 2010, there were 1,340 people, 547 households, and 348 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,055.1 inhabitants per square mile (407.4/km2). There were 597 housing units at an average density of 470.1 per square mile (181.5/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 95.4% White, 0.4% African American, 0.5% Native American, 0.1% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 1.6% from other races, and 1.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.5% of the population.

There were 547 households of which 34.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.9% were married couples living together, 11.2% had a female householder with no husband present, 6.6% had a male householder with no wife present, and 36.4% were non-families. 32.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.37 and the average family size was 2.95.
