Hardstep is a subgenre of Hard Dance which emerged in 2016. created by the Mexican duo Clothes Off integrated by Carpizzo and Machado. It is characterised by using half time beats and 4 on the floor combined with Dubstep growls and Psycodelic type of bass. The breaks are melodic, usually made to be accompanied by vocals.
The genre found favour with the rise of Psychodelic. Nowadays, hardstep is particularly popular in the North American Hard and Bass scene
It was first publish by the Hard Dance label Harsh Records.
