Hanggao Astronomical Observatory (Chinese: 杭高天文台, abbreviated HGAO, or HGOB in the past), is an amateur astronomy organization in Hangzhou, China. It was founded in 2001 on the basis of the amateur astronomy group of Hangzhou High School.
Hanggao Astronomical Observatory has organized members to participate in the "Expedition of Solar Eclipse" in Gongpoquan, Gansun in August 2008, and has also made several observations, such as the transit of Venus on 8 June 2004 and the solar eclipse on 22 July 2009. It is a famous students' amateur astronomy organization in China.
