The Hamilton Historic District is located in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
The area was settled by Irish immigrants in the early 1840s and was originally named New Dublin. It was renamed in 1847 after William S. Hamilton, a member of the legislature of the Wisconsin Territory and son of Alexander Hamilton, the first U.S. Secretary of Treasury. Soon after a post office and several business were opened in Hamilton. The area continued to prosper until a railroad was built in near-by Cedarburg in 1870. Eventually, Hamilton itself became part of Cedarburg. In 1974, Hamilton was designated a Historic Site by the Wisconsin State Historical Society.
The Concordia Mill is located within the district.
