Hârlău (also spelled Hîrlău, Romanian pronunciation: [hɨrˈləw]; Hebrew: חרלאו, German: Harlau, Hungarian: Harló) is a town in Iași County, Moldavia, Romania. As of 2004[update] the estimated population is 11,271. It was the capital city of Moldova in the 15th century. One village, Pârcovaci, is administered by the town.
The 2011 census counted 10,055 inhabitants, 93.85% Romanians and 6.06% Roma. A large Jewish community used to live in Hârlău.
