Gwinnett County Public Schools is a school district operating in Gwinnett County, Georgia, United States. GCPS is the largest school system in Georgia, with 139 schools and an estimated enrollment of 178,000 students for the 2016-2017 year. GCPS is estimated to be the 14th largest school district in the U.S. The district has its headquarters in an unincorporated area near Suwanee.
GCPS was the winner of the 2010 Broad Prize for Urban Education. In 2014, GCPS was nominated for the Broad Prize for Urban Education once again, the first school district to have won the Broad Prize before and be nominated again in its first year eligible to win the prize.
The district's schools are grouped into 19 geographical attendance zones referred to as "clusters." Each cluster includes one high school, for which it is named.
