Gustave F. Perna (born April 5, 1960) is a United States Army general who serves as Commander of the United States Army Materiel Command. He assumed responsibilities as the 19th commanding general of the United States Army Materiel Command (AMC), headquartered at Redstone Arsenal, AL, on September 30, 2016.
He grew up in Rockaway, New Jersey, attended Morris Hills High School, before graduating from Valley Forge Military Academy and College, the University of Maryland and the Florida Institute of Technology. He earned his commission after graduating as a Distinguished Military Graduate via Early Commissioning Program in 1979. General Perna is the second officer from Rockaway, New Jersey to attain four star rank (General Raymond T. Odierno).
Lieutenant General Perna's nomination for promotion to commanding general of the United States Army Materiel Command was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on September 15, 2016.
