Guru (English: Mentor) is an upcoming Telugu film written and directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad which features Daggubati Venkatesh in the lead role. It is a remake of director's own Tamil film Irudhi Suttru (2016). Production began in January 2016.Principal photography commenced in September 2016 in Hyderabad. Principle filmography took place in Vizag, Hyderabad and Goa. The film has completed shooting in the first week of December 2016.
The story is about a boxing coach, who is not able to win the championship of his time due to malpractices by his opponent. He finds a fisher-woman who is aggressive and suitable for the boxing role. He trains her hard and makes her the boxing champion
The film is ready for a worldwide release on Summer 2017.
