Guangdong University Of Finances and Economics (Simplified Chinese:广东财经大学; Pinyin:Guǎngdōng CaiJing DaXue) established in 1983 is a public university located in the capital of Guangdong province. It is sometimes refer to Guangdong Business Studies or Guangdong Commercial College.
It is located near to the Guangzhou International Meeting and Exhibition Center (where part of the Canton Fair is held every year). There are 11 faculties and 13,818 full-time students at the moment.
The Guangzhou Campus of the university of business is situated at No. 21, Luntou Road(仑头路)or Chisha Road(赤沙路),Haizhu District(海珠区), Guangzhou, Guangdong, CHN. There is a bus terminal at the gate of the college which bus No. 14 and No. 37 serve to the university.
GUFE is one of the key universities in Guangdong Province and its emphasis on economics and finance attracts numerous students from China every year. For this reason, the admission process is extremely competitive aunually so that Chinese students have to get more than 80% in Chinese National University Entrance Examination to enroll in GUFE.
Guangdong University of Finances and Economics was established in 1983. As one of the key institutions of higher learning in Guangdong Province, GUFE offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in economics, management, law, English and Chinese literature, science and engineering which confer bachelor's degree or master's degree, in addition to a second bachelor's degree for law students. GUFE has over 17,228 full-time students (including postgraduates and overseas Chinese students and those from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan).
It comprises 2 campuses. The Guangzhou Campus is located in the southeast of the city in the close vicinity of Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center, and the Sanshui Campus is situated at the Yundonghai Tourist Economic Zone in Sanshui, Foshan. Moreover, the university and Zengcheng Sun City Ltd. in Guangzhou have run an undergraduate independent college, Huashang College.
GUFE covers an area of over 2383mu (1,590,675 square meters). The total value of all equipment for teaching and scientific research amounts to 91.4 million yuan, including such modern facilities as multimedia teaching equipment, language labs, simulated law courts, judiciary technical experimental center and commercial science labs. An Intranet has been built in classrooms of all teaching buildings, which make possible various teaching activities by means of multimedia facilities.
The university has a number of faculties: Management, Law, Accounting, Economics and Statistics, Taxation and Public Finance Administration, Finance, Foreign Languages, Information, Humanities and Communication, and Tourism and Environment.
