Guaiacum coulteri is a species of flowering plant in the caltrop family, Zygophyllaceae, that is native to western Mexico and Guatemala.
In a rabbit trial of twelve Mexican plants with reputed antidiabetic properties, it was the most effective in reducing hyperglycemia.
