Gregorio Rosa Chávez (born 3 September 1942) is a Salvadoran Roman Catholic prelate who serves as the Auxiliary Bishop of San Salvador. He was a close collaborator of the slain archbishop Blessed Óscar Romero.
Pope Francis announced in his Angelus address on 21 May 2017 that he plans to raise him to the rank of cardinal at a consistory to be celebrated in Saint Peter's Basilica on 28 June 2017. Besides his native Spanish he can speak French and has some knowledge of English and Portuguese.
