Global Public School (stylized as global public school) is an international school in Cochin, in the state of Kerala, India. The institution is affiliated to Cambridge International Examinations of the University of Cambridge, and the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. It was established in 2006 by the Global Education Trust. The school has produced several national and international level toppers and has a 10-acre campus with two blocks - the CBSE block and the gps-International block that houses its Cambridge students.
In April 2016, it became the first school in India to receive a comprehensive ISO 9001:2015 certification after audition by UK-based inspection firm Bureau Veritas.
Students of Grades 6 to 12 are sorted into one of four houses. Inter-house competitions are held regularly and the best house is adjudged at the end of the academic year. House prefects who are responsible for house activities are nominated and appointed by the faculty annually in a non-democratized process. The four houses are:
Each house is headed by two house prefects and a teacher known as the 'House Co-ordinator'.
Global Public School is highly academic and is selective (by competitive entrance examination). The students perform modestly for their CBSE examinations, with 61 distinctions secured in the year 2015, as well as their CIE examinations, with Cambridge Outstanding Achievement awards being conferred upon students for securing positions including World Topper in Travel and Tourism and Business Studies, India Toppers in Accounting, Business Studies, Food and Nutrition, Travel and Tourism, Environmental Management and Biology.
GPS-International (stylized as gps-International), is a division of the Global Education Trust that offers students the IGCSE curriculum for Grades 9 to 10 and the AS & A Levels for Grades 11 to 12, prepared by Cambridge International Examinations. When students pass to Grade 9, they are presented with the option to choose between this curriculum or the one offered by the Central Board of Secondary Education.
