Glidden is a town in Carroll County, Iowa, United States. The population was 1,146 at the 2010 census.
Glidden was laid out as a town in 1866. It was named either for Capt. W. T. Glidden, a railroad promoter, or in honor of Joseph Farwell Glidden, the inventor of barbed wire.

As of the census of 2010, there were 1,146 people, 502 households, and 327 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,032.4 inhabitants per square mile (398.6/km2).
