Gimpo International Airport Station is a station on the Seoul Subway Line 5 and Line 9. True to its name, it serves the nearby Gimpo Airport, the hub of domestic flights in the Seoul metropolitan area as well as limited flights to/from China, Japan, and Taiwan.
The Incheon International Airport Railroad link from this station to Incheon International Airport opened in March 2007. An extension of this rail line, opened in December 2010, connects Gimpo and Incheon International Airports to Seoul Station. There are plans to offer through-service from Line 9 onto AREX (Gangnam to Incheon Airport) starting in 2011.
In 2018, Gimpo Airport Station will host another new line, as the Daegok-Sosa-Wonsi Line opens.
