Ghost Rider is a song by the protopunk band Suicide appearing on their debut album. The song is based on the Marvel Comics character.
In 1981, Alan Vega re-recorded his song for the release of his second solo album Collision Drive. Vocalist Henry Rollins, formerly of the hardcore group Black Flag, recorded the song for his 1987 debut album Hot Animal Machine. Rollins re-recorded the song with the Rollins Band for the soundtrack to the 1994 film The Crow. Alternative rock outfit R.E.M. covered the song and released their version on the single released for their song "Orange Crush", released in 1988. It later appeared on the band's 1993 compilation album The Automatic Box.
