George W. Gaulrapp (born 30 October 1959), is an Illinois politician. He was the mayor of Freeport, Illinois from 2005 to 2013. He was an unsuccessful candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2010 and 2012. He is a Democrat.

Gaulrapp became Mayor of Freeport, Illinois in 2005, when his predecessor, James Gitz, stepped down. He was a member of the City Council prior to his election to Mayor. In 2013, James Gitz ran again for Mayor and defeated Gaulrapp in the Freeport Citizen’s Party primary.

In 2010, Gaulrapp ran for the United States House of Representatives for Illinois's 16th congressional district. He was unopposed in the Democratic primary and thus became the Democratic nominee, but was defeated by the Republican incumbent, Donald A. Manzullo 65%-31%.

In 2012, Gaulrapp ran again for Congress, but this time for Illinois's 17th congressional district. After the redistricting, Freeport was placed in the 17th congressional district, then represented by Republican Bobby Schilling. Of the three candidates in the Democratic primary, Gaulrapp finished second, after Cheri Bustos, who would later win the general election.
